This is Rob from New World Seeds and Tubers, LLC. We've re-claimed Tom's old
domain name tatermaterseeds.com and have switched over to it. Either way,
it's Tom Wagner's "future heirloom" tomato and potato varieties we are
making available to collectors, backyard gardners, and small farmers.
You probably already realize that tomatoes need about 6 to 8 weeks of
starting indoors or in a heated greenhouse before transplanting outside.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, where early spring nights are uncomfortably
chilly for tomatoes, I have to transition my plants to low tunnels before
finally planting them out.
Potatoes from true seed can be more or less flexible depending on your
climate. Heat more likely to be a limiting factor than for tomatoes; potato
seeds go dormant in hot weather.
Last year a lot of our friends in the upper Midwest lost their seedlings to
unseasonable cold, or worse, flooding. With the jet stream destabilizing,
it's a good idea to have backup plans for protecting seedlings.
There's still time to sow tomato seeds for this season. Who knows, it might
even cure those winter blues some of you are feeling about now!

Already put in a big order this year? Don't worry; I'll refund your discount
as our way of saying “thanks” for your business.
Just a head's up: some varieties are in short supply. Rather than leave lots
of people disappointed when they sell out, we're going to auction off the
ones sufficiently desirable to be worth it. I'll send another message when
they're ready for bids.
I'll also let you know when I have listed some varieties bred by Tim Peters
of the former “Peters Seed and Research”. All net proceeds will be
forwarded to Tim Peters.
All offers limited to stock on hand. Hurry for best selection.

the satisfaction of raising you crops to healthy maturity despite whatever
