Billas Schnackschnack-Zackzack

  • Well, the sun shines and everything seems to be good.
Yesterday we drank some beer after work so i am quite glad to have my work free day today.

  • Speaking of the devil.

Stepson's English was so bad, that we decided to speak English with each other. Yesterday he had an exam. I am really exiced to hear about his score.

    :zunge::zunge::zunge:

This should work out quite well. Even if it will not boost his marks, he will learn more about using the language on a regular basis.

  • You get more familiar with a language the often you use it. But most important:
You do not need to think about your vocabulary, you just use it.

  • If you speak English on a regular basis, every day, at work, with friends you will start using slang words an phrases, and your grammar might not be correctly used. You know this from the German language, don't you, we can read it here every day. Most slangs you are not being taught at school.

Do you remember the old cassetes they used to play in school for listening comprehension?
As a sixth grader, slightly used to oxford english, you get served a brought variety of accents...

    Oh yeah, I remember.

We had exchange with a school in Manchester. Very brutal accent. When we went to Blackpool two years ago, I really ran into some difficulties although my ex an I spoke solely English to each other.

London accent?????? It took me nearly fifteen minutes to figure out that we were in a pub, where there was a private party and we were not being served.
